The Fabba Girls

Fabbagirls เป็นสมญานามของสองนักร้องสาวแนวร็อคชาวสวีเดน Susie Webb และ Zoe Nicholas พวกเธอได้ตั้งวงดนตรีแนวร็อค “Fabbagirls” มากว่า 15 ปี จนมีชื่อเสียงมากที่สุดวงหนึ่งในประเทศอังกฤษในฐานะที่มีเอกลักษณ์พิเศษ ในแนวเพลงตามแบบฉบับของ Abba วงร็อคที่ยิ่งใหญ่ของสวีเดน ซึ่งแฟนเพลงทั่วโลกพากันคลั่งไคล้ กลายเป็นตำนานเพลงร็อคแห่งยุค 70’ เพลงของ Abba เป็นที่นิยมฟังมาจนปัจจุบันและได้รับการกล่าวขวัญอีกครั้งหนึ่งเมื่อดนตรีของพวกเขาถูกนำมาสร้างเป็นละครเพลงเรื่อง “Mamma Mia”

Susie และ Zoe ได้ทำให้ดนตรีของ Abba กลับมาอีกครั้ง ด้วยน้ำเสียงที่เต็มไปด้วยพลัง แนวขับร้องประสานเสียงของเธอทั้งสอง พร้อมด้วยการแต่งกาย ลีลาท่าเต้นผนวกกับอารมณ์ขัน ที่เหมือนกับ Abba ที่สุด ทำให้วง Fabbagirls ประสบความสำเร็จมากที่สุดในฐานะที่ วงร็อคแนว Abba หนังสือพิมพ์ในอังกฤษถึงกับกล่าวถึงพวกเธอว่าเป็น “The Best Abba Tribute of the World”

Fabbagirls เคยออกแสดงที่โรงคอนเสิร์ต Albert Hall แห่งกรุงลอนดอนถึง 3 ครั้ง ท่ามกลางผู้ชมที่แน่นขนัด เต็มทุกรอบ พวกเธอได้รับเกียรติให้แสดงที่พระราชวังบั๊กกิ้งแฮม ต่อหน้าพระพักตร์สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าอลิซาเบธที่ 2 และได้ร่วมร้องกับศิลปินที่มีชื่อเสียงระดับโลกหลายคณะ เช่น Queen, Phil Collins, Sting, The Beach Boys, Paul Macartney, Eric Clapton, Bono, Andrea Bocelli และ Pavarotti ในคอนเสิร์ต Pavarotti and Friends ที่ประเทศอิตาลี

ในฐานะศิลปินนักร้องรับเชิญกับวง BSO ครั้งนี้ Fabbagirls จะขับร้องเพลงฮิตของ Abba ทั้งหลาย อาทิ Dancing Queen, Money-Money เพลงดังกล่าวจะนำมาเรียบเรียงเสียงประสานสำหรับวงออร์เคสตร้าในแนวร็อค ตามแบบฉบับของ Abba โดย Steve Sidwell ซึ่งจะเป็นทั้งผู้อำนวยเพลงรับเชิญและผู้เรียบเรียงเสียงประสาน Steve มีผลงานที่โดดเด่นมากมาย เคยแต่งเพลงประกอบภาพยนตร์เรื่อง Moulin Rouge, Romeo and Juliet, Bridget Jones Diary, Finding Nemo, Mona Lisa Smiles และ Hair Sprey ผลงานล่าสุดอำนวยเพลง และเรียบเรียงเสียงประสานให้กับ Robbie Williams ในคอนเสิร์ตที่ Albert Hall และบันทึกเป็น DVD เผยแพร่ทั่วโลก

You have been dancing to the music of Abba for decades. Ten years ago the world rediscovered the extraordinary talents of the Swedish Pop Group when the stage musical Mama Mia was first presented in London before going on to conquer the world. Last year, Thailand saw and adored the movie Mama Mia: The Musical with Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan. In August this year, the international stage production of Mama Mia will finally come to Bangkok.

But why wait? Because on May 15th you can enjoy all of Abba’s Greatest Hit songs in the company of Susie Kerry Webb and Zoe Nicholas of the incomparable Fabba Girls in full orchestral arrangements with the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra conducted by Steve Sidwell.

Formed in 1996, the Fabba Girls are nothing short of a phenomenon. They have sold out performances from London’s Royal Albert Hall to Sweden, from Marrakech to Italy, France and the Caribbean, stopping by London’s Buckingham Palace to perform for the Queen. They have worked alongside many of the greats in the entertainment world - with Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli, Eric Clapton, Sir Paul McCartney, Lionel Ritchie, Phil Collins, Bono, The Who, Queen and many others.
